VIDEO KILLS READING

Is video and social media consumption killing the habit of reading? Let me know in the comments.

VIDEO KILLS READING

Whenever I passed a bookstore, the scent of the books draws me in. I had to enter and browse books. It felt good. Flipping through the pages, absorbed the knowledge, getting excited about what I read.

More often than not, I ended up with at least, more often 2, sometimes even 3 books at once.

I was a book addict.

I dragged books around, everywhere. There was always one in my backpack.

Holiday in Penang? Visiting my in-laws in Perlis? Going to Germany?

2-3 books, at least, followed me.

My books always became colourful.

Take notes inside, underlining, scribbling inside, or in a notepad. I couldn’t wait to finish one to start the next.

Sometimes, I read 2-3 books at the same time.

Somehow, the habit had stopped.

First, I started to read books on PDF, Kindle, and Apple Books. But somehow, this wasn’t the same. It didn’t feel the same.

A few years back I started to watch educational stuff on YouTube. Listened to Podcasts. Books dropped to the site. My interest somehow vanished.

How interesting.

So today, I am going on an adventure. I go downtown to check out a book that I heard about on a Podcast. Browsing in a bookshop. I wonder how I am going to feel.

What about you …..

Are you reading books? Or have you also replaced it?

Let me know!

(PS … the photo is staged….. the book is not. I read it from front to back and all over again! But I need to shave)
