Do I have to cry?

Do I have to cry?

Someone asked me that this week, during a call, inquiring about our NLP Training. Not in those exact words. But that was the fear underneath.

She had heard about NLP training. Five days. People breaking down - even made to cry under the disguise that this is required as part of the change process. Tears as proof that something real happened.

And she wasn't sure she wanted to sign up for that. I cried, hearing these misconceptions. Shocked, actually.

I told her the truth.

NLP is not about crying.

It's not about dismantling everything you have built or letting go of everything you have learned. It's not about breaking you down so something new can be built in the rubble.

It's about expanding your map of the world.

Creating awareness of the structure underneath your own thinking. And then making the changes you want to make based on what you discover, at the pace that's right for you.

Do people cry in our training?

Yes. Sometimes. Tears of relief - finally letting go of something that bugged them forever.

We have tissue boxes. They get used.

But tears are not the measure of real work. And they are certainly not a requirement.

The measure of real work is what you do differently after the training has ended. The conversation you handle better. The decision that used to feel impossible and suddenly feels clear. The relationships you rebuild and recreate. The stress - no more. Anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt? All gone

Beliefs that hold you back? Changed or vanished.

Basically, becoming a new you, the one who is truly you.

That's the work.

If it comes with tears, we're ready for that.

If it doesn't, the work is no less real.

Our next NLP Practitioner intake starts August 6. Three modules - three weeks. Small cohort. No role-play - you got to finish the exercises. However long it takes.

If you've been sitting with a question like hers - message me. Tell me what you're worried about. I'll tell you honestly what to expect.

p/s what's the assumption about NLP training that almost stopped you from doing it?
