She came into the room on day one carrying something. Most people do when they arrive. It's happening all the time.

We are all broken, somehow, somewhere, inside. And we still carry the burden today.
It shows up in our words, our eyes, our physiology.
The tension around a relationship that hasn't been resolved. A conversation you have been avoiding for months. Sometimes years.
She was quiet initially. Absorbing.
I knew what was going to happen.
By day two, we started working with the belief structures hiding below the words.
The most inner beliefs. The pain we run away from.
And somewhere in the middle of an exercise, something shifted for her.
Not dramatically through tears or a major breakthrough moment. Just quietly.
The way things actually change when they change for real.
She told me her story afterwards.
Initially, she came in expecting tools.
Words to push back when things got hard. Clever responses for when people objected. When others would "hurt" her with words.
She had heard of Sleight of Mouth Patterns before. How to reframe statements.
She looked forward to becoming a verbal warrior.
But that's the old way of looking at it.
It's not how Sleight of Mouth- Reframe Mastery works, in my opinion.
Just, that is what it has become over the years.
Sleight of Mouth - Reframe Mastery goes much deeper.
It starts by understanding yourself first. What your words reveal about your inner structure.
The pain you feel but try to hide. How your beliefs protect you.
And where your beliefs are located.
And then, only then, using language to shift perspective.
Yours or others.
Removing those layers. One by one. Like peeling an onion. While building or maintaining rapport.
How to use it.
In a coaching session. A talk with your team. A dinner with your family. A conversation in a coffee shop.
Conversationally shifting beliefs. Without breaking down. Without breaking relationships.
Without a war of words.
Because beliefs don't just live in the mind.
They live in the body. In the tightness you feel when a certain topic comes up.
In the way your throat closes before you can get the words out.
At the end of the training, she said it best:
"This training just felt personal. A close-knit group. The biggest impact was looking at my relationship with my daughter differently. And being able to reflect on it without breaking down."
That's what three days in a room with us can do. When the work is real, and the group is willing.
